5 years of ITS projects in Bulgaria

We are proud to have been part of these projects for more than 5 years. Our traffic counting technologies cover all 1st class roads, expressways and motorways. CrossCount units equipped with induction loops and ANPR cameras currently measure traffic at 200 stations. We have also built a network of road weather stations from the ground up on CrossMet technology, which continues to grow. And we’ve also supplied state-of-the-art weighing-in-motion systems. At present, we participate in the interconnection of individual telematics systems into control centers, of which several are being created on individual motorways, for their uniform monitoring, administration and management.

Not only on highways, but also in cities, CROSS technologies can be encountered. Traffic in Sofia, the capital, with 1.5 million inhabitants is controlled by modern CROSS RS 4 traffic light controllers and the eDaptiva traffic management center. The gradual renewal of traffic light systems has been taking place since 2015, and more than 250 intersections are currently being modernized in this way. Not only cities with millions of inhabitants want to go with the times, so even smaller ones fall into the category of smart cities. The platform for smart cities Invipo from our sister company Incinity belonging to the CROSS holding helps not only with traffic management in the cities of Targovishte or Vraca, for example.

Bulgaria is an attractive country and perhaps even with the contribution of smart CROSS technologies for road traffic will be even more attractive.
