SCAIME, a specialist in weighing and load cell technologies, has announced that several of its load cells – including models AXH, AVS, AVX, F60X, SK30X, CB50X, R10X and R30X – have passed IP69K protection tests. This certification, obtained after rigorous testing by an independent test laboratory, attests to the robustness and reliability of the load cells in the most demanding environments.

What is IP69K certification?

IP69K is one of the highest levels of protection in waterproofing standards, specified for industrial environments requiring frequent and intense cleaning. The IP rating is made up of two numbers: the first indicates the level of protection against solids (in this case, dust), and the second against liquids. The “9K” level is particularly significant, as it guarantees resistance to high-pressure and high-temperature cleaning.

To obtain this certification, the sensors underwent tests including:

• High-pressure water jet: subjected to a water jet with a pressure of up to 100 bar.
• High temperature: the water jet is heated up to 80°C, simulating the harshest industrial cleaning conditions.
• Multi-angle projection: sensors are exposed to a jet directed from several angles to guarantee complete protection and ensure that no infiltration affects their operation.
