Datum Electronics Joins Made in Britain Campaign

Datum Electronics (United Kingdom) – Press Release: Datum Electronics Joins Made in Britain Campaign

Datum Electronics, a specialist manufacturer of precision torque, strain, and shaft power measurement solutions, announced it has officially joined Made in Britain, the official mark used to identify and promote goods manufactured in the UK. Operating from its sites across the Isle of Wight and Southampton, this milestone reflects Datum Electronics’ ongoing commitment to UK-based design and manufacturing.

“Made in Britain reflects the way we’ve been working for a number of years. Our products are designed and manufactured in the UK for demanding applications, with a strong emphasis on quality, full traceability, and control over our manufacturing processes. It also reflects our commitment to working with trusted UK suppliers wherever possible, strengthening local supply chains and supporting UK engineering capability.”, Michael Irons, ACCA, Managing Director.

The membership also places Datum Electronics within a recognised network of UK manufacturers, offering customers additional assurance around product origin and manufacturing consistency. Operating within the UK supports a more streamlined supply chain and reduced transport distances, contributing to the company’s broader sustainability objectives. As the company continues to supply international markets, the Made in Britain mark provides a simple and established reference for how and where its systems are produced, particularly in applications where traceability and long-term reliability are important.

“Datum’s priority is ensuring that the products we make are of the absolute highest quality. There is no better way to assure this than to use British manufacturers that we can work closely with to ensure that our standards of work are replicated. Socially we are able to support these relationships more effectively than overseas by being able to visit or distribute directly which also supports our environmental goals.”, Kelly Pearce, Purchasing Co-Ordinator.
