Established in 1844, Stevens is one of the oldest and most experienced weighing machine manufacturers and is still pioneering the industry today.

Charles Stevens (Founder) was a scale maker in the city of London, renowned for his mechanical weighing machines using lever and dial technology. This mechanical technology was utilized throughout the weighing industry for almost a century.

In 1979, following many generational of family leadership, C Stevens & Sons was acquired by International Electronics, a leader in electronic component and circuit board production. The newly formed Stevens International Electronics (SIE) developed the first electronic ‘force motor’ weighing system, the same technology used by all leading laboratory balances today.

During the mid 1980’s, Stevens Group developed the first Recipe Formulation System (290 RFS), which was sold to hundreds of baking operations almost overnight.
